a princess loved by her people; royal blood matters not
Natalia Luzu Kimlasca-Landvaldear is the only one of the party (sides Asch) to have known Guy since he came to Kimlasca. She can be quite bossy at times (just like a spoiled princess), but Guy has learned how to cope with her
attitude. He's one of the only ones able to get her to realize her foolishness when she's being overwhelming bossy/stubborn - like in the Abandoned Factory of Baticul. She also can be incredibly guillable/dense, like when she truly believed Guy was the "Fon Machine King, Guy Kaiser."
DEFINING MOMENT: INISTA MARSH
Probably the most defining moment in Guy's relationship with Natalia is when the party is trekking across the perilious Inista Marsh. Natalia had just come back from an
audience with her father where he basically denounced her as his daughter. It had come to King Ingobert's attention that his "daughter" Natalia was not blood-related to him - the "real" Natalia had been stillborn and thus "Meryl" (Natalia) was
given to the Queen. As King Ingobert was very traditional and preferred status-quo, he allowed Mohs to persuade him to brand Natalia a traitor (although in the audience, you can see that he is still unsure of the idea). Thus, Natalia was preoccupied with the
current situation regarding her father while she walked through the marsh. On several occassions, while she was zoning out, she got separated from the group. Guy was constantly on the alert, and along with Luke, saved Natalia on these occassions. He also warned Luke as
they were entering the marsh to keep a close eye on Natalia because he could see she wasn't focused like usual.Guy constantly tried to cheer Natalia up through the marsh and he finally succeeded while they were crossing a bridge. He even goes so far as to invite her to go to Malkuth with him.

Guy: The people of Baticul don't love the princess. They love Natalia.
Natalia: But Father...
Guy: If His Majesty insists on rejecting you, then come with me to Malkuth. I'd welcome you with open arms.
Natalia: (////) ...How can you say things like that with a straight face?
Despite Natalia's attempt to pass it off as a joke (and Luke's subsequent "Don't let Guy sweet-talk you"), it is obvious that Natalia is pleased. Near the exit to the marsh, Natalia thanks the party (in particular, Guy) for their support and resolves to not worry about the matter anymore. At this point, Guy pours on the charm even
more by saying:Guy: I'm happy I could help bring back your smile. To which Natalia replies with a blush and tries to hug him (he, of course, backs away).
RELATIONSHIP POTENTIAL: JUST FRIENDS? LOVERS?
This is the part where Guy's romantic (or otherwise) potential with Natalia is explored. Expect to come across lots of my opinions on the matter.
JUST FRIENDS: Natalia at first seems only to think of Guy as "Luke's servant" and admonishes him for his phobia of women (she wonders out loud what the maids see in him the first time you meet her). Despite that, she grows close to Guy (as does the rest of the team) and occassionally falls prey to his charm (like the rest of the female population).
There is much evidence in the game to support just friendship - probably one of the biggest pieces being Natalia's love for Asch. While Guy tends to take Luke's side, Natalia tends to take Asch's. Also, while Guy and Natalia are usually paired up when the party spilts up (or on merchandise covers), they never really have any "romantic" moments. Natalia has more "romantic" moments in the game with Asch than she does with Guy.
Furthermore, Guy doesn't seem to strike one as the "kingly" type anyways (he's more like a knight).LOVERS: GuyxNatalia is probably the second most popular het pairing in Tales of the Abyss (LukexTear being the most, IMO). Guy is always supporting Natalia and reassuring her of her
worthiness of being Kimlascan's princess. Just as Asch can be used as evidence for the two being just friends, he can also be used to support an end-game pairing. Feeling the loss of Asch, Natalia turns to Guy for comfort. Even though Guy doesn't seem like the type who would become king, he most certainly is the type to support his love regardless. Out of all the female party members, it is Natalia that has the most chance
of having a romantic relationship with Guy. Therefore, it is little wonder why GuyxNatalia is so popular amongst het ToA fans.
