Volgahe may look a little on the shady side but...
Volga is the 34 yrs old leader of Lelcar's eastern islet. Besides being one of Lelcar's greatest leaders, Volga acted as a father
figure to many of the orphans of Lelcar including Kyle. In fact, one cannot talk of Kyle's past without at least mentioning Volga, not to mention the fact
that Volga is the player's primary source of info Kyle's past. Volga gives the player more insight into Kyle's character and history than Oboro or perhaps even Kyle himself!
Although never stated in the game, it is highly likely that Volga was (at least partly) responsible for Kyle's early combat training. To Kyle's credit, he was an exceptional fighter
in his childhood whether or not he received tutelage from Volga."Even as a kid, he hit on every girl in sight, whenever he wasn't pummeling his sparring partners." ~ Oboro's 2nd investigation Besting his peers in combat was just one of kid!Kyle's pastimes - the other being,
of course, flirting with women. Volga, during the Sun Rune War, confides to the Prince Kyle's early penchant for rich, wild girls and explains that he (Kyle) left Lelcar because of his flirtations
toward Lord DeBeers' only daughter."The reason he left 10 years ago was because he flirted with DeBeers' adopted daughter. He had to go. He's into just about every kind of girl, but he's always had a
special weakness for upper-crust girls with wild sides..." ~ Volga's letter entitled, "Kyle" Volga did not see Kyle again until the Sun Rune War. Once Lord DeBeers abandoned his post as Lord of Lelcar and fled, the islets
became even more politically divided than ever before. The western islet, under the leadership of Orok, allied itself with the Godwin faction and began "recruiting" Lelcar men into the Godwin army.
These "recruiting" sessions included kidnapping and coercing young men into service. As such, the Lelcar citizens opposed the idea; however, they lacked the unity necessary to make a significant effort.
That's when Prince Faroush (Falena, Hero V), under the advice of his tactician Lucretia and at the request of Wasil (leader of the middle islet), decided to step in and put a stop to the forceful enrollment.
Kyle accompanied him to Lelcar and was able to convince Volga to let them help. The Prince was successful in stopping Orok; however, Zahak (a traitor Queen's Knight) had used Lelcar as a trap and initiated
an attack on the Prince's entourage. The citizens of the middle and eastern islets rallied behind the Prince and together, they pushed the invading Godwin army into the western islet. It seemed as if Zahak would be
finally captured and defeated at last. Zahak had an extra trick up his sleeve, however. Betraying the promise he made to Orok to spare Lelcar, Zahak set the western islet ablaze and used the ensuing chaos to escape.
Although the Restoration Army was able to put out the fire, much of the western islet was destroyed. It was then, when Zahak's (and ultimately, the Godwins') treachery and cowardice were revealed, that the whole of Lelcar -
all three islets - rallied itself with the Restoration Army. Volga and Wasil (along with Lelcar soldiers) soon followed the Prince back to the Sindar Castle in the lake and stayed there until the war was over.
